Fred Wolk underwent a major operation at the Marshfield, Wisconsin Hospital Friday.

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Schulz spent the past week with relatives in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

A baby boy was born to Mr. and Mrs. Roger Staffeil Wednesday, Jan. 4th, 1950.

Mrs. Darrel Sossaman of Abbotsford spent Wednesday at the Wallace Sossaman home.

Melvin Meach of Owen, formerly of Colby, spent several days with friends in Colby, Wis.

Clifford Daines spent several days in Chippewa Falls with Mr. and Mrs. Lester Kattre.

Raymond Mehlberg of Chicago spent several days with his mother, Mrs. Clara Mehlberg.

Mr. and Mrs. F. J. Kobs spent the week-end in Milwaukee with their son in law and daughter.

Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Walter and children returned from a month’s vacation in western states.

Mrs. Ed Luchterhand suffered a stroke and was taken to the Marshfield, Wisconsin Hospital for treatments.

A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. Louis Buddinger at the Marshfield, Wisconsin Hospital Tuesday, January 3rd.

Mr. and Mrs. Howard Crossgrove were New Year’s Eve dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Domer of Unity.

Mrs. O. Hoffmann left for Milwaukee Tuesday where she was called because of a serious accident of an aunt.

Mr. and Mrs. Elroy Bruss of Milwaukee spent several days with the former’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Bruss.

Mrs. Nellie Erickson of Chokie, Minn., has been visiting the past several days at the Howard Crossgrove home.

Mr. and Mrs. Peter Steinwand of Milwaukee spent the past week with the former’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. J. Steinwand.

Mr. and Mrs. Elroy Gutenberger attended the funeral of the latter’s sister, Mrs. Herman Schroeder, in Milwaukee December 23rd.

Mr. and Mrs. G. G. Bock and son, Gladwin, of Detroit, Mich., are spending several weeks with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Bruss.

Miss Malena Grambort arrived from Chicago Friday for a week’s visit at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Grambort.

Miss Doris Schoelzel and Mr. and Mrs. Edward Wachtendonk of Beloit spent the holidays at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Schoelzel.

Mary Umhoefer will undergo an operation for the removal of a floating cartilage on her knee at the Marshfield, Wisconsin Hospital today, Thursday.

Mrs. Arthur Wiedenhoeft was at the Marshfield, Wisconsin Hospital several days for examination. Mrs. Wiedenhoeft is a member of the Unity school faculty.

Holiday dinner guests at the G. T. Vorland home were Mr. and Mrs. Neal Smith of Medford, Miss Marie Kraut of Curtiss and James Cattanach of Owen.

Mr. and Mrs. Tom Alioto and son, Joseph, and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Zettel of Milwaukee spent the week end the ladies’ parents, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Pokallus.

Guests at the John Wolf home on Christmas Day were their children, Marie, R.N., of V.A. Hospital, Tomah, Norbert of Washington D.C., and Rose Hein of Marshfield. This was the first time in eight years that all the children were home for Christmas.

Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Thiele of Wisconsin Rapids, Mr. and Mrs. Thiele of Sanderville, Georgia, Mrs. Hoppa of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Zulke and daughter, Pamela, and Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Kraut and family of Curtiss were holidays guests at the G. T. Vorland home.

Miss Evelyn Mielke of Colby and Lucille Hoernke of Edgar returned home Sunday night after spending a week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Hernke and Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Hernke. They went to see Otto Hernke who has been in the Red Wing hospital for the last two weeks. He has improved very little so far.
