Frane, Betty Jean (Marriage - 28 Oct. 1950)

Miss Betty Jean Frane, daughter of Mrs. Laura Frane of Colby, and Arthur Fredricks, son of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Fredricks of Milwaukee, were united in marriage at St. Catherine’s Catholic church in ? Saturday morning preceding a nuptial high mass, Very ? Flasch officiating. During the offeratory of the mass, Mrs. Dorothy Zavala of Chicago, the bride’s cousin, sang Bach-Gounod’s "Ave Maria" and at the communion, "Panis Angelicus" by Franck.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her brother, Virgil Frane, wore an ivory satin and lace gown of her own design. It featured a boat shaped neckline, long fitted sleeves, and a flowing skirt with wide gores falling into deep folds at the hipline. The entire dress was made of satin with all-over lace. Her short veil of nylon illusion was fastened to an ivory satin helmet, and she carried a cascade bouquet of white mums and ivy with white satin ribbons.

Miss Margaret Frane of Milwaukee, was her sister’s maid of honor, and Miss Patricia Rohrbacher of Milwaukee, the bridesmaid. Their satin formal gowns designed by the bride, were of gold and broze, respectively, fashioned with fitted bodices with boat shaped necklines, the long fitted sleeves ending in points at the wrists. Full gored skirts were made with deep folds at the hipline and their satin helmets were made of matching shades. Both carried cascade bouquets of gold and bronze mums and ivy with gold satin streamers.

Mary Lou Hildebrand of Richmond, Calif., a niece of the bride, served as flower girl in an ivory satin gown covered with lace and made with fitted bodice. Her bonnet of ivory satin and lace was tied under the chin with net and she carried a miniature bouquet of gold and bronze mums.

Tommy Frane, nephew of the bride, carried the rings on a white satin pillow.

Attending the groom were James Cass, as best man, and John Fredricks, as groomsman. The bride’s brothers, John and David Frane of Colby, ushered.

Mrs. Frane attended her daughter’s wedding wearing a cocoa brown suit, and the groom’s mother was present in a cocoa brown dress with brown accessories. Both wore shoulder corsages of yellow roses.

Breakfast was served the bridal party and immediate families at 12:30 o’clock, at the Chalet on the Lake, and supper was served friends and relatives at the Theodore Fredricks home. In the evening, a reception and dance were held at the Dorn-Teil V.F.W. Hall.
