Andrew, Evelyn Margaret (Marriage - 22 Aug. 1950)

Miss Evelyn Margaret Andrew, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Andrew of Colby, and Robert J. Hemmy, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Hemmy, Sr., were united in marriage at St. Mary’s Catholic church Tuesday, August 22nd, Rev. N. B. Beschta officiating. Mrs. Ray Deml of Aurora, Ill., was matron of honor and Mrs. Arthur Hemmy, Jr., of Juneau and Mrs. Vernon Ellis of Mazonmanie were bridesmaids. The groom was attended by Arthur Hemmy, Jr., of Juneau and Ralph and Lloyd Andrew of Colby, Wis.

The bride was attired in a gown of rayon marquisette with a lace bodice extending into a long train of lace, long pointed sleeves and buttons down the back with a finger-tip veil. She wore the necklace her mother wore at her wedding 30 years ago. Her bouquet consisted of white gladiolus and pink roses. Her attendants wore dresses of taffeta with rayon marquisette yoke and ruffles down the back, in yellow, lavender and light green respectively. Their bouquets consisted of gladiolas and asters.

A reception was given at the home of the bride’s parents and a wedding dance will be given at Walter’s pavilion Aug. 30.

The couple will make their home in Colby where the groom manages the New Colby Theatre.

Out of town people here for the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Woskie of St. Paul, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Richard Cook of Columbus, Ohio, Mrs. Raymond Deml of Aurora, Ill., and Mrs. Vernon Ellis of Mazomanie, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Hemmy Jr. of Juneau and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gertschen of Marathon.
