Brill, Agnes Elizabeth (Marriage - 12 Aug. 1950)

Miss Agnes Elizabeth Brill, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Brill of Colby, became the bride of Victor A. Bergs of Waukesha, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Bergs of Edgar, in a double-ring ceremony at 9:00 A.M. at St. Mary’s Catholic church in Colby Saturday, Aug. 12, Rev. N. B. Beschta officiating.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride for her wedding chose a gown of sheer marquisette over taffeta with long fitted sleeves. The rounded neckline extended into a wide bertha collar forming the yoke which was edged in lace. The dress also featured a fitted bodice and a full skirt, edged in lace, which extended into a long train. Her finger-tip veil of imported silk illusion was attached to a sweetheart-shaped coronet decorated with pearlized orange blossoms. A bouquet of pink roses and white carnations completed her ensemble.

Miss Theresa Brill, sister of the bride, was the maid of honor. She wore a white frosted organza gown over a white taffeta slip, with a matching sweetheart-shaped hat, and carried a bouquet of pink and white carnations tied with pink ribbons.

Miss Rita Brill, sister of the bride, and Miss Mary Sazama, were bridesmaids. Miss Brill wore a gown of white frosted organza over a green taffeta slip with matching hat, and Miss Sazama wore a white frosted organza gown over an orchid slip with a matching hat. Both carried bouquets of yellow carnations.

Robert Bergs was his brother’s best man. The groomsmen were Edward Brill, brother of the bride, and Wilfred Bergs, brother of the groom.

Alex Brill of Wausau, cousin of the bride, ushered for the wedding.

For her daughter’s wedding, Mrs. Brill chose a forest green dress, and the groom’s mother wore a Copenhagen blue dress. Each wore a corsage of pink and white carnations.

A dinner was served in the gymnasium of St. Mary’s church, and after, a reception was also held there.

The tables at the reception were centered with flowers, and the hall was trimmed with white, green and orchid streamers, caught to a large bell at the center of the ceiling. An all-white three-tiered cake centered the bridal table.

The bride is a graduate of the Colby High School. The groom, a graduate of DeForest Training at Chicago, is employed at the J. J. Korber Appliance Store, Waukesha.

When the couple left on their honeymoon trip to Niagara Falls, the bride was attired in a navy blue dress with white accessories. Her corsage was pink and white carnations. When they return they will reside at 408 W. College street, in Waukesha.

Guests came from Ackley, Iowa, Marshfield, Wausau, Marathon, Edgar, Stratford, Unity, Medford, Milwaukee, La Crosse, Abbotsford, Auburndale, Detroit, Chili and Colby, Wis.
