Merriman, Vern D. (19 APR 1879 - 3 APR 1943)

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday morning from Holy Rosary Church for Vern D. Merriman, whose death occurred Saturday, April 3, 1943. He was 64 years, 11 months and 14 days old.

Mr. Merriman was one of the pioneer residents of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), coming her forty-six years ago, from Eau Claire. He was in the early days employed by the John S. Owen Lumber Co., after which he operated a restaurant in the city. In the past years he has had employment with the Master Package Corp. and E.W. Kidd Co.

He leaves to mourn, his wife, two sons, Daniel and Bernard, and one daughter, Catherine, also one sister, Mrs. Wm. Perkins, and a niece, Mrs. Roy Gabriel, of Owen.

Those from away who came to attend the funeral were Thomas Tusken, Mrs. Burns and Mrs. McCluskey, Eau Claire, William Tusken, Duluth, Minn., and Mrs. Meuli, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

The pallbearers were Messrs. H.B. Mauel, W.P. Hilt, George Plummer, R.F. Gaffney, H. Parker and B. Morley.

Burial took place in Riverside Cemetery.

The sympathy of a wide circle of friends is extended to the family at this time.
