Mr. Koerner was married in Milwaukee on September 5, 1887, to Clara Erler, who survives him. Four sons, William of Walworth, Ervin and George of Curtiss, Oscar of Dorchester; and three daughters, Mrs. Emil (Mary) Trester of Milwaukee, Mrs. Donald (Anna) Trowbridge of Milladore, Mrs. George (Ellen) Uhlig of Abbotsford, also survive. There are 23 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

The deceased lived on his present farm for 54 years and was one of the pioneers of the community. Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday afternoon from the home and the Evangelical and Reformed church, Rev. S. A. Schmeichen officiating. Burial was made at Pine Hill cemetery.
