Lewan, Evelyn (Marriage - 20 Aug. 1949)

Miss Evelyn Lewan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Lewan, and Clifford Empey, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Glenzer, were united in marriage at First Evangelical and Reformed church Saturday, August 20, at 2:00 P.M., Rev. Franz Paul Puhlmann reading the marriage ceremony. The couple was attended by Miss Joan Hochstretter of Chicago, Ill., and Dale Vollrath of Greenwood.

The bride was attired in a gown of white brocaded satin with long sleeves, sweetheart neckline, long train and long lace-edged veil. Her bouquet consisted of gardenias with orchid and streamers. Miss Hochstretter wore a white dotted Swiss dress with net top end and matching garden hat and gloves trimmed in fuhis. Her bouquet consisted of fuchsia baby mums.

A reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents.

The couple will spend one week in Chicago visiting relatives and friends after which they will be at home at Highbridge, Wis., where the groom is employed by the Radloff Cheese Company.
