Benzschawel, Bernice (7 SEP 1942)

A beautiful double ring ceremony took place Sept. 7, 1942, at 8:30 a.m. at St Bernard’s Catholic Church, when Miss Bernice, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nick Benzschawel, and Robert, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alex Soeller, exchanged marriage vows, the Rev. A.M. Muckerheide officiating.

The bride entered the church on the arm of her father. She was attired in a gown of white brocaded chenille with a long train and a beaded tiara and fingertip veil. She wore a string of pearls and carried a cascade shower bouquet of gardenias and Killarney roses.

The bride’s attendants, Dorothy and Viola Soeller, sisters of the groom, both wore aqua brocaded satin, the design similar to the bride’s, with a headband and blusher to match. They also wore pearls and carried cascade bouquets of Talisman roses and glad florets of Picary gladiolas.

The groom was attended by Bernard Benzschawel, a cousin of the bride, and Donald Rank, a cousin of the groom. They all wore dark suits and boutonnieres.

Marilyn Schoenberger, a cousin of the bride, attended as flower girl and wore an aqua net dress over satin, she wore a headband to match and carried a bouquet of gladiolas.

A reception was held at the bride’s home, where dinner and supper were served to relatives and friends and a dance was given at the Legion Hall in the evening.

After a short honeymoon, they will make their home near Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), where the groom is employed as cheesemaker.

The many friends and relatives join in heartiest congratulations to the newly wedded couple and wish them much success and happiness throughout their life together.

Brusatori and daughter of Joliet, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Otto Schoenberger and family of St. Paul, Minn., Mr. Ray Heiman of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Soeller and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Geo.
