Mazurek, Joseph (18 MAR 1900 - 21 AUG 1942)

Dr. Jos. Mazurek, 42, son of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Mazurek Sr. of this village (Thorp, Clark Co., Wis.), passed away at his home in Albuquerque, N.M., on Friday, Aug. 21st, 1942, at 4:00 a.m. Dr. Mazurek had been in ill health for several years. His father and mother left Sunday for Chicago where funeral services were held Tuesday. An obituary will appear in this paper next week.

Funeral services were conducted at St. Viator’s Church, Chicago, Ill., at 10:30 a.m., Aug. 25, 1942, for Joseph S. Mazurek, D.D.S., son of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Mazurek Sr. of Thorp, who passed away in Albuquerque, N.M., on Aug. 21st. Father T.E. Fitzpatrick officiated, assisted by Father T. P. O’Brien and D.A. O’Connor.

Dr. Mazurek was born on March 18, 1900, in the Town of Thorp. He attended the local schools and graduated from Thorp High School with the class of 1917. He then took up dentistry at the Northwester University at Chicago and completed the course in 1920. He practice his profession in Chicago for about ten years and moved to Albuquerque, N.M. because of illness. He continued his practice there for five years and upon regaining his health returned to Chicago but was forced to return to the south after several years.

He was married to Eleanor Gibb Anderman at Chicago on Aug. 21, 1940, and she, with his parents and two brothers, Stanley Mazurek Jr. of Chicago, and John S. Mazurek of Winfield, Ill., survive him.

Interment was made in St. Adalbert’s Cemetery at Chicago. Pallbearers were: Michael Wozniak, Arthur H. Wiele, Stanley Tomaszewski, Hoard M. Doyle, Harry J. Lagodzinski and Wm. J. Gardner.
