OWEN -- Arvin D. Hansen, 61, of Milwaukee, formerly of the Owen-Withee area, died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2008, at the Clement Zablocki VA Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Services tentatively will be Tuesday, Feb. 12, at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Owen.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday Feb. 11, at Maurina/Schilling Funeral Home -- Owen Chapel.

Arvin D. Hansen

Arvin D. Hansen, 61, formerly of the Owen-Withee area, died Feb. 5, 2008 at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Nazareth Lutheran Church in Withee. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery with military rites conducted by the Van Huizen-Fritz American Legion Post No. 123 and the Lublin American Legion Post No. 547.

Friends may call at the Maurina/Schilling Funeral Home in Owen from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday and at the church from 10 a.m. until time of service Tuesday.

He was born Aug. 2, 1946, to Clifford and Camille (Zvanovec) Hansen in Marshfield. He attended White School in the town of Hoard and later graduated from Owen-Withee High School in 1964. Arvin joined the Air Force and was stationed at K.I. Sawyer Air Force Base in Michigan, where he worked as a medic. He further served his country during the Vietnam War as a medic until his honorable discharge July 21, 1969.

Arvin was married to Nancy Lou Weber on Dec. 22, 1973, in Cudahy. He worked at the American Canning Co. and later at Clark Manufacturing, both in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Arvin was an avid car buff, especially of 1960s muscle cars. He enjoyed working with model railroads in his basement and playing the accordion and drawing in his spare time.

He is survived by his mother, Camille; his children: Matthew (Maribelle) Hansen of Yuma, Ariz., Nicholas Hansen of Milwaukee, Meredith (Cecil) Richard of Jacksonville, N.C.; one grandchild: Hannah Richard; one brother: Lynn Hansen of Thorp; one brother-in-law: Ronald Lichet of Withee and a niece and nephew.

He is predeceased by his father, Clifford and one sister, Melody.
