Badzinski, Gertrude E. (21 JUN 1941)

A very pretty wedding took place at St. Hedwig’s Church at nine o’clock Saturday morning, June 21, 1941, when Father F.A. Kulig joined in holy wedlock, Mr. Stanley Staszcuk, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Staszcuk of Gilman, and Miss Gertrude Elizabeth Badzinski, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter M. Badzinski of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.).

The bride was attired in a lovely white floor-length satin gown with a three yard train and a fingertip veil held in place by a crown of tiny orange blossoms. She wore white satin slippers and her bouquet consisted of white talisman roses, lilies of the valley and baby’s breath and ferns, all tied in white.

Theresa Nicoski of Gilman, cousin of the groom, and Lucille Swienton, acted as bridesmaids and wore embroidered net gowns in waltz blue with blue headdress. Their bouquets were pink roses and sweet peas tied in blue. Little Christine Strzok and Jerome Szczech, niece and nephew of the bride, acted as flower girl and boy, Christine being attired in a floor-length, white net dress with white net headdress and Jerome wearing a replica of the groom’s attire. They carried bouquets of roses and sweet peas.

The groom and his attendants wore tuxedoes with the usual dark trousers and white jackets. They wore a boutonniere of gardenia, the others carnations. Wallace Staszcuk, brother of the groom, acted as best man and Alexander and Joseph Badzinski, brothers of the bride, were ushers.

Wedding breakfast and dinner were served to about 80 guests at the home of the bride’s parents.

The young couple will reside in Chicago where the groom is engaged as a printer and will be at home after June 23rd.

The bride was a member of the Girls’ Club of St. Hedwig’s and also a former member of the St. Hedwig’s choir.

Out of town guests who were present at the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. George Badzinski of Spencer, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Louis Badzinski and family of Boyd, Mr. and Mrs. John Staszcuk and family of Gilman, Mr. and Mrs. Kresky of Duluth, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. L.
