Johnson, Bertha (24 Nov. 1874 - 18 Apr. 1953)

Funeral services for Mrs. E. J. Johnson of Unity, Wisconsin, age 73, who died Saturday evening at the Bethel Convalescent Home, were held Tuesday afternoon at the Trinity Lutheran church in Unity, Rev. Claude Vander Stoep officiating, and burial was made in the parish cemetery.

Mrs. Johnson, the former Bertha Wieland, was born on November 24, *1884, in Germany. She came to the United States with her parents when a small child. Her marriage to E. (Edward) J. Johnson took place in Phillips in 1893. She had been a resident of Unity for many years.

Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Clarence (Alma) Edblom of Unity, Mrs. Carl (Esther) Johnson of Portland, Ore., Mrs. Beda Henry in Minneapolis, Minn., and Mrs. Victor (Mildred) Dallman of Colby; two sons, Milton of Detroit, Mich., and Leonard of Owen; seven grand children; five great grand children; three sisters, Mrs. Joe Leatherberry of Oregon City, Ore., Mrs. Alma Wellman of Antioch, Ill., and Mrs. John Martin of Dodgeville; two brothers, Charles of Oregon City, Ore., and Walter of Unity, Wis.

Her husband, two children and two brothers preceded her in death.
