Davel, Ronald L. (1 FEB 1930 - 7 JAN 2008)

Ronald L. Davel, 77, Menasha, died on Monday, Jan. 7, 2008, at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., on Friday, Jan 11, at St. John the Baptist Church, Menasha. The Rev. Paul Radestski officiated. Interment was in High Memorial Park, Appleton.

Ronald L. Davel was born on Feb. 1, 1930, in Loyal, to Lawrence and Nettie (nee Shupe) Davel. He was a graduate of the University of St. Thomas, St. Paul, Minn. He married Patricia Lewandowski on Aug. 27, 1955, in Menasha. He was employed at American Can Corporation as a production control supervisor for more than 35 years, retiring in 1989. He served in the U.S. Marines Corps in Korea. He enjoyed woodworking and fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia; his children, Anne (Mark) Schneider, Rio Rancho, N.M., Carrie Davel, Rio Rancho, N.M., and john (Lorna) Cathy Davel, Menasha; five grandchildren; his brother, James (Lorna) Davel, Menasha; and his sister, Julieann (Gerald) Zettler. Loyal.

Preceding him in death was a son, Andrew, in 1986.
