Wepling, Lydia (28 JUN 1941)

A lovely quiet wedding service was solemnized at the Shrine of the Little Flower at Royal Oak, Mich., Saturday, June 28, at 10:00 a. m., uniting Miss Lydia Wepling, formerly of Owen, and Edward Frane, formerly of Colby, in holy wedlock. The bride is the daughter of John Wepling of Owen and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Frane of Colby, Wis.

The bride wore a floor length gown of orchid tulle net, and a wreath of dainty flowers for a headdress and white slippers. She carried a bridal bouquet of lillies of the valley, carnations, and baby breath.

Her bridesmaid, Miss Wanea Klothowski, wore a dress similar to the bride’s of light green and carried a similar bouquet of flowers.

The groom and his best man, Elmer Smith, each wore light gray summer suits.

Following the service a dinner was served at the home of the bride’s brother, Leo, for 36 friends and relatives. The home was attractively decorated with colorful streamers of green, orchid and white with occasional baskets of cut flowers sitting about the room and on the tables.

The young couple are well known in Owen. Mrs. Frane was employed for many years at the former Peven’s Farmer Store and Mr. Frane worked in this community as a mechanic.

They will make their home at Royal Oak, Mich., where Mrs. Frane is employed at a grocery store and Mr. Frane is employed as a mechanic.

Among the guests at the service were Mr and Mrs. Toino Sillampa, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Sillampa, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Erickson, Mr. and Mrs. J. Waara, Mr. and Mrs. Alex Koski, and Mr. and Mrs. I. Risten, all of Detroit.
