Sossaman, Phyllis Joy (Marriage - 30 Oct. 1948)

Phyllis Joy Sossaman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Sossaman of Colby, and Raymond P. Kesteloot, son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Kesteloot, Sr., of Chicago, were united in marriage Saturday afternoon, Oct. 30, 1948, at the Methodist church in Colby, Wis., Rev. F. J. Smith officiating. Mrs. Lester Tarry of Chicago, sister of the groom, was matron of honor and the groom was attended by Herman Sossaman of Milwaukee, the bride’s brother. The bride’s brothers, Floyd and Darrell Sossaman of Milwaukee, acted as ushers. Mrs. F. P. Puhlmann played the wedding march and also accompanied Mrs. E. Passehl, Jr., who sang, "The Lord Is My Shepherd" and Mr. and Mrs. E. Passehl, Jr., who sang "God Be With You."

The bride wore a tan suit with brown accessories and her bouquet consisted of yellow chrysanthemums and white pom pons. The bride also wore her mother’s pearls which she wore at her wedding in the same church 27 years ago. The matron of honor wore a green suit with brown accessories and her bouquet consisted of baby mums and pom poms. The bride’s mother wore a brown suit with black accessories and her corsage consisted of gold and brown baby mums. The groom’s mother wore a brown suit with brown accessories and her corsage was similar to that of the bride’s mother.

Dinner was served to 40 relatives and friends in the church basement and a wedding reception was held in the evening at the home of the bride’s uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Passehl, at Stratford.

The couple left on a wedding trip to Northern Wisconsin and will be at home after Nov. 7 in Milwaukee where both the bride and the groom are employed by the Hotpoint Co.

Those present from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Sossaman, Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Sossaman, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Petries of Milwaukee, Mrs. Ivan Larson and daughter, Shirley, of Marshfield, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Billeb of Medford, Miss Bonnie Mitzel of Abbotsford, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Passehl of Stratford, Mr. and Mrs. Lindberg and daughter, Phyllis, of Abbotsford, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Colby of Owen, Mr. and Mrs. Niel Ridderbusch and Elsie Springer of Dorchester, Virginia Strathman of Wausau and many friends from Medford, Stetsonville, Abbotsford and Marshfield.
