Wurthmann, Helen (Marriage - 28 Mar. 1948)

In a simple ceremony performed Sunday afternoon before the Easter-decorated altar of the First Methodist church by the Rev. William Blake, Miss Helen Wurthmann, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Wurthmann, of Wausau, formerly of Colby, became the bride of John R. Jackson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. M. Jackson, Shell Lake.

The bride wore a navy blue gabardine dressmaker suit, with white accessories, and a corsage of gardenias. Her sister, Miss Lillian Wurthmann, Wausau, who was her only attendant, accented her rose-beige suit with blue accessories and a corsage of white and blue iris. Kenneth Wedin, Kewauneee, attended as best man.

H. Randolph Briggs, Neillsville, sang two solos, "Because" and "O Promise Me," accompanied at the organ by Lenneard Seim.

One hundred guests were entertained after the ceremony at a reception in the church parlors.

Mr. and Mrs. Jackson have departed for a week’s honeymoon in Minneapolis and southern Wisconsin and after April 5 will be at home to friends in Neillsville.
