Woempner, Alice Marcella (Marriage - 27 Dec. 1947)

Miss Alice Marcella Woempner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred H. Woempner, and Wilmer Paul of Curtiss, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Paul of Mercer, were united in marriage Saturday afternoon at 3:30 o’clock, Rev. F. H. Sprengler reading the nuptial service at St. Peter’s Lutheran church at Dorchester, Wisconsin.

The bride’s brother in law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Joel E. Skoog of Prentice, were best man and matron of honor. The bridal party also included Miss Myrtle Kellmer of Dorchester and Ray Paul of Curtiss, a brother of the groom. Ushers were Norman Zeuther and Marvin Busse of Dorchester, Wisconsin.

The bride chose white for her wedding costume. The gown was styled with a jersey top, tunic effect, a bateau neckline and long sleeves, and a floor-length veil, Chantilly lace-edged, was caught to a pearl beaded halo.

Mrs. Skoog was dressed similarly in light blue and the bridesmaid in pink. Their gowns were styled with cap sleeves and they wore matching open-crown hats. Colonial bouquets completed their attire.

Supper was served to immediate relatives in the church dining room. A reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents.

The bride, a graduate of the Abbotsford High School and the Taylor County Normal School, is teaching school. Mr. Paul operates a farm northwest of Curtiss, where the couple will make their home.
