Gosse, Marion (Marriage - 6 Sept. 1947)

Miss Marion Gosse, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Gosse and Alvin Krueger, son of Mrs. Mary Krueger, exchanged marriage vows in a double ring ceremony Saturday, Sept. 6th, at 2:30 P.M. at St. John’s Evangelical and Reformed church, Rev. J. C. Klingeberger reading the marriage ceremony. The bride was given in marriage by her father. Harriet Gosse, sister of the bride, was maide of honor and Hazel Krueger, sister of the groom, and Dorothy Gosse, sister of the bride, were bridesmaids. The groom was attended by his brother, Bennie Krueger, Herman Gosse, brother of the bride, and Alfred Laabs, nephew of the groom. Ushers were Melvin Gosse, brother of the bride, and Lester Krueger, cousin of the groom.

The bride was attired in a princess style gown of white satin made with a sweetheart neckline ending in a train with lace throughout with fingertip veil, headdress of seed pearls. Her bouquet consisted of pink and yellow roses and white asters tied with a satin ribbon. Her jewelry consisted of pearls, a gift of the groom. The maid of honor wore a gown of pink silk marquisette over taffeta, fitted bodice, long full sleeves and skirt and her colonial bouquet consisted of white gladioli and pink zinnia. Miss Hazel Krueger wore a blue dress, styled the same as the maid of honor and her colonial bouquet consisted of white gladioli and pink and blue asters. Miss Gosse wore a yellow dress, styled the same as the maid of honor’s, and her colonial bouquet consisted of white gladioli and yellow roses. All three attendants wore pearls, gifts of the bride and all three attendants wore net hats to match their dresses.

A reception was given at the home of the bride’s parents, covers being laid for 50 guests. The home was decorated with white, pink, blue and yellow streamers.

The couple left on a wedding trip to Northern Wisconsin and Minnesota and will be at home after Sept. 12th.

The groom is employed by the Krueger Construction Co.
