Curtiss, Wis. - Mar. 7, 1946

The February meeting of the Midway Homemakers club met with Mrs. Theo. Thompson. Miss Agnes Rued and Mrs. Cornell Erickson who had attended the leaders’ meeting at Abbotsford presented the lesson, "Milk, Eggs and Cheese in the Diet." The March meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Felix Schiszik.

Lt. LeRoy Veghelen of LaCrosse, who has recently been discharged from army service, is visiting his aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Erickson.

A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. Walter Nicks of Mayville at their home on Feb. 23rd.

Mrs. Ernest Mowery will be hostess to the Women’s Missionary Society on Fri. Mar. 8th.

Mrs. Chester Bangsburg, Jr., and children of Gilman spent the latter part of the week with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Matt Rued, and aunt, Miss Agnes Rued.

Mr. and Mrs. Albert Bakke spent the week-end with their daughter and son in law, Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Klein, and family of Stevens Point.

Mrs. Lee Smiley entertained at a children’s party on Saturday afternoon in honor of her son, Tommy’s fifth birthday.

Mrs. Maruis Morlund entertained the pupils of the Midway School at her home on Saturday afternoon in honor of her daughter, Marie’s birthday anniversary.

Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Erickson, Mrs. Willard Geary and LeRoy Veghelen were Wausau callers on Monday afternoon.

Mr. and Mrs. Theo. Thompson were hosts to a party of friends on Monday evening in honor of the latter’s birthday.

Mr. and Mrs. Levi Ecke and daughters of Junction City and Mr. and Mrs. Lenard Kivikko and daughters of Owen visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Lokken on Sunday.

Lt. Rueben Burtard, who has served four years in the U.S. army, arrived in Seattle from Japan last week and was discharged at Camp McCoy on Saturday. He is now with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Burtard of Hoard.

The Ladies’ Aid of St. Paul’s Lutheran church will meet with Mrs. Richard Pohl on Wed., Mar. 13.

Mr. and Mrs. Louis Boardman and children of Thorp visited at the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Hoff on Sunday.

Mrs. Henry Peterson returned this week from Sheboygan where she had been visiting her daughter and nite time with her parents, the Aug. ? and family.
