Cass, Lilly #2 (9 NOV 1940)

Announcement has been made of the marriage of Miss Lilly Cass, Highland Park, Ill., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Cass, Owen, and Arne Laakso, Waukegan, Ill., son of Mr. and Mrs. Salem Laakso, Owen, Wis. The ceremony was performed at Woodstock, Ill., on Nov. 9th.

Miss Martha Laakso, sister of the groom, and Eddie Cass, brother of the bride, were the couple’s attendants. The bride wore a brown wool ensemble with a corsage of yellow roses. Miss Laakso was attired in blue and also wore yellow roses.

Following the ceremony a dinner was held at the Karcher Hotel.

Mrs. Laakso was a graduate from the Owen High School and the River Falls State Teachers College. She was intermediate teacher in the Curtiss public schools for four years before leaving last spring. Mr. Laakso also lived in Curtiss until leaving in the spring. They will reside in Waukegan.

Mrs. Laakso was well known to friends in Beaver having at one time lived on a farm with her parents while small, having sold their farm to Peter Kozik.

Best wishes go with the young couple for a long and happy wedded life.
