Schilling, Margaret Marie (Marriage - 19 June 1946)
Miss Margaret Marie Schilling, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Schilling, of the town of Hull, and Harlan H. Witt of Unity, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Witt of Abbotsford, exchanged marriage vows at St. Mary’s rectory in Colby Wednesday afternoon, June 19th, with the Rev. N. B. Beschta reading the marriage ceremony.
The bride wore a gown fashioned with an embroidered satin bodice and full net skirt and a fingertip tulle veil. Her bouquet was of pink and white carnations and pink roses. Mrs. Harvey Barts Jr. was her sister’s maid of honor, attired in white net over taffeta and wearing a corsage of pink and white carnations.
The bridesmaids, Miss Elaine Witt, sister of the groom, and Miss Florence Bantes were in blue and pink net, respectively, and had pinned to their gowns corsages of pink and white carnations.
Harvey Barts, Jr., Halbert Hardrath and Herbert Schilling attended the groom.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the bride’s parents home, which was decorated with pink, white and blue streamers. Supper was served the guests and in the evening a dance was held at Walter’s pavilion in Colby, Wis.
The bride has been employed the past year and a half at the Standard Container company, Edgar. The couple will live on the groom’s farm west of Unity, Wis.
