Hofman, Wilma (1 Apr. 1914 - 17 Dec. 2007)

Wilma Hofman, 93, Colby, died Monday, Dec. 17, 2007, at Colonial Center, Colby, Wis. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the church.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 21, at First United Church of Christ, Colby, Wis.

Burial will be in Colby Memorial Cemetery. Reverend Kenneth A. Dix will preside.

Wilma was born April 1, 1914 in the Town of Johnson to Faith and Magdelina (Geiser) Hargraves.

She graduated from Athens High School. Wilma and Albert Hofman were married in October of 1934. Albert preceded her in death.

They farmed in the Town of Hull from 1947-1976. Wilma also worked as a nurse’s aide at St. Joseph’s Hospital. She was a member of First United Church of Christ.

Wilma is survived by her children, Karl Hofman, Colby, Robert (Melody) Hofman, Appleton, Faye (Gerald) Grasee, Oshkosh and Helen (Frederick) Appleyard, Plainfield; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Robert (Gladys) Hargraves, Athens, Marvin (Marcella) Hargraves, Wausau and Clements (Joan) Hargraves, Stratford.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Albert; two sisters; and two brothers.

Maurina/Community Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
