Hickman, Alma (2 SEP 1940)

A very pretty wedding took place at 8:30 o’clock at St. Bernard’s Church on Monday morning last when Father A.M. Muckerheide joined in holy matrimony, at nuptial high mass, Mr. Francis Bujalski, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. Bujalski of Stanley, and Miss Alma Hickman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Hickman of this village (Thorp, Clark Co., Wis.).

The bride was given in marriage at the altar by her father.

Attending the couple as best man and bridesmaid were Mr. Alexander Porgorni and Miss Josephine Bujalski, sister of the groom. The maid of honor was Clara Bradle, an aunt of the bride, of Laona, Wis. Other attendants of the bride and groom were, Miss Edith Bradle of Laona and Francis Lauer of Stanley.

The bride was beautifully attired in a gown of white brocaded satin with train and long veil. She wore a pearl crown and her fan shaped bouquet was of roses and snapdragons.

The bridesmaids and maid of honor wore fuchsia rose chiffon dresses and carried bouquets of mixed flowers. Little Marlene and Marilyn Bujalski, twin nieces of the groom, wore white chiffon and carried fan shaped bouquets of snapdragons and tea roses. The conventional blue was worn by the groom and his attendants.

After the ceremony the wedding party repaired to the American Legion Hall, where the wedding breakfast and dinner was served to relatives and guests.

For her going away attire the bride wore an ensemble of navy blue wool crepe with accessories to match. They left the same day to spend their honeymoon at Prairie Lake and will make their future home in Chicago, where the groom is employed.

The many friends of both Mr. and Mrs. Bujalski join in tendering sincere congratulations.
