Bentz, Edwin Carl Dietrich (10 Dec. 1890 - 2 Sept. 1945)

Edwin Carl Dietrich Bentz died suddenly Sunday morning at his home in Colby, a stroke being the cause of his departure. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at Zion Ev. Lutheran church in Colby, Rev. O. Hoffmann officiating, and internment was made in the Colby cemetery. Pall bearers were Carl Borchert, Louis Borchert, Carl Elstrom, Wm. Mueller, Albert Hertz and Ed. Frome.

The deceased was born in Colby on Dec. 10, 1890, thus reaching the age of 54 years, 9 months and 23 days. He was married to Theresa Lindner in Colby on Oct. 17, 1918.

Surviving are two children, Mrs. Jake Ugoretz of Marathon and one son, Woodrow Bentz of Milwaukee, and one sister, Mrs. Wm. Tesmer of Colby, Wis. There are six grand children.

The deceased was an industrious worker; honest in all his dealings, an indulgent husband and father and was well known in Colby, Wis. The news of his sudden death spread rapidly in Colby and his many friends were shocked and grieved to learn of his sudden death.
