Frome, Marie L. (18 Oct. 1870 - 10 Mar. 1945)

Mrs. Henry A. Frome died at her home in Abbotsford, Wisconsin, Saturday, Mar. 10, a stroke being the cause of her death. She had been ill about one year. Funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon at the Lulloff Funeral Home and at the Zion Ev. Lutheran church, Rev. O. Hoffmann officiating, and internment was made in the Colby cemetery. Pall bearers were Fred Zassenhaus, Fred Stecker, Louis Borchert, Carl Borchert, Albert Hertz, August Spann. Those in charge of the flowers were Lenice Frome, Janet Frome, Virginia Bender, Shirley Elstrom, Jean Laack and Doris Elstrom.

The deceased was born in Lomira, Dodge county, Wis., on Oct. 18, 1870, thus reaching the age of 74 years, four months and 21 days. She came to this community with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Greseke, when seven years of age and saw this community develop from a wilderness to a fine farming section. She was married to Henry A. Frome at Colby in 1893.

Surviving are her husband; six children, Edwin L. Frome of Colby, Mrs. J. H. (Meta) Dreger of Los Angeles, Calif., Wallis A. Frome of Colby, Orwin A. Frome of Lake Geneva, Wis., Theodore A. Frome of Colby and Henry J. Frome of Loyal; one sister, Mrs. August Schueler of Abbotsford; ten grand children and three great grand children. Two grand children preceded their grand mother in death.

The deceased was a member of the Lutheran Sewing Circle, the Lutheran Ladies’ Aid and the O.A.O. club and held the office of treasurer of the latter two organizations for many years. She was a faithful member of the Lutheran church and always endeavored to perform her duties well. Like all early pioneers, she was of an honest and congenial disposition and made friends easily.

Out of town people here for the funeral were Mrs. John Dreger of Los Angeles, Calif., and Mrs. Victor Bethke of Oshkosh.
