Arlene L. Weiss

WISCONSIN RAPIDS -- Arlene L. Weiss, 81, of 1941 Saratoga St., Wisconsin Rapids, died early Monday morning, March 20, 2006, at Edgewater Haven Nursing Home in Port Edwards.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids. The Rev. Roger Moldenhauer will officiate. Burial will be in Zion American Lutheran Church Cemetery in Granton.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at Taylor, Vollert and Jennings Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids and from 10 a.m. until the time of services Friday at the church.

Arlene was born Dec. 13, 1924, in the town of Lynn, Clark County, to Emil and Louise (Bartsch) Riedel. Her marriage to Carl Weiss ended in divorce.

She had been employed as a clerical worker for City Outdoor Advertising along with several other clerical jobs.

She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and its Altar Guild. She served as a Sunday school teacher for many years and enjoyed gardening, reading and sewing.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda Weiss of Wisconsin Rapids and Diane Weiss of Sandusky, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; and one sister.
