Szarkowski, Martha (20 JUN 1940)

Roger Possley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Nick Possley of Mendota, Ill., formerly of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), and Miss Martha Szarkowski, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E.D. Szarkowski of Perryville, Mo., were united in marriage in a double ring ceremony performed at 8:00 a.m. Thursday, June 20th, 1940, in the Church of the Assumption at Perryville. The wedding vows were exchanged in the presence of only members of the immediate families of the couple.

The bride was beautifully attired I silk marquisette and wore a finger tip veil and coronet of pearls. She carried a bouquet of white asters and wore a gold locket, a gift of the groom. Miss Helen Szarkowski, her sister, was bridesmaid. She was dressed in shell pink marquisette and carried orchid asters.

The groom and his attendant, Erwin Klink of Detroit, Mich., wore summer tuxedoes with white aster boutonnieres.

Immediately following the ceremony a buffet breakfast was served the wedding party. The newly wedded couple left for a month’s trip through the western states and parts of Canada. They will be at home to their friends after August 1st at Mendota, Ill., where the groom is with the Associated Dairies.

The "Courier" joins the many friends of Mr. and Mrs. Possley in extending sincere congratulations.
