Carpenter, Magdalene (April 13, 1912 - December 2, 2007)

Magdalene Carpenter, age 95, of Marshfield, died on Sunday, December 2, 2007 at her home.

Magdalene was born April 13, 1912, in Dubuque, IA to Peter and Katherine (Latz) Stuner. She was educated at Jump River Grade School and had further education in Milwaukee and Chicago, graduating from Post Graduate School of Nursing, Chicago. She was employed for 25 years as an LPN at Saint Francis Hospital in Milwaukee. Magdalene was married to Jay Dee Carpenter in 1933 in the Presbyterian Church in Jump River. He died February 9, 1967. She moved to Neillsville in 1977. She had resided at Parkview Apts. in Marshfield for the past five years. She attended United Church of Christ, Neillsville, and was a member of the sewing circle.

Magdalene is survived by three children: Robert (Ethel) Carpenter, of Greenwood; Ted (Barbara) Carpenter, of Clifton, VA; and Darlene (Dennis) Rhodes, of Marshfield; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grand-children; one brother, Albert Stuner, of Milwaukee; three sisters, Mary Griffey, of Denver, CO; Katherine Gerberding, of Ladysmith, WI; and Helena McMahan, of St. Joe, TX.

Magdalene was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers and one sister.

A memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 8, 2007 at Buchanan Funeral Home, Neillsville, Wis. Rev. James Mohr will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Nebo Cemetery, Jump River, WI.

The family will greet friends from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday at the Funeral Home.

Buchanan Funeral Home, Neillsville, assisted the family with arrangements.
