Schulz, Evelyn A. (Marriage - 26 Aug. 1944)

A wedding of interest in this community took place in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on Saturday, August 26. when Evelyn A. Schulz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Schulz of Colby, became the bride of Frank Hohler of Kiel. Rev. Clarence Kaiser read the marriage vows at a four o’clock ceremony. Minerva Schulz, cousin of the bride, and Perry Schulz, brother of the bride, were the attendants.

The bride was attired in a pink ankle length gown of silk rayon marquisette trimmed with lace and ribbons. Her shoulder length veil was fastened to a cluster of flowers and her shoes were white. Her jewelry consisted of a gold locket, a gift from the groom, and a wrist watch. The bridesmaid wore a gown of aqua silk rayon marquisette with accessories to match her gown. Both the bride and her attendant wore corsages of roses and feverfew.

Supper was served to immediate relatives, a hug wedding cake being used as the centerpiece for the table. In the evening, friends were entertained at a reception at The Coon Hallow Gardens where dancing was enjoyed until a late hour.

The bride is well known here and has been employed in Milwaukee the past three and one-half years. The couple will reside in Milwaukee where the groom is employed as a mason for the Eisert Co. The groom served one year with the armed forces but received his discharge on July, 1943.

Out of town relatives attending the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. George Schulz, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Schulz and sons, Myron, Arlyn and Gerald, and Perry Schulz, all of Colby, and Joe Hohler and William Hadler of New Holstein.
