Cattanach, Jean Lois (Marriage - 3 June 1944)

Jean Lois Cattanach, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. W. Cattanach, Sr., of Owen, and Hubert Glenzer, Jr., ensign, U.S.N.R., son of Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Glenzer, Sr., of Green Grove, exchanged marriage vows Saturday, June 3rd, at 3:00 P.M. at St. Katherine’s Episcopal church at Owen, Rev. Ronald Ortmayer reading the marriage ceremony. The bride was attended by Miss Joyce Connor of Auburndale as maid of honor and Miss Beatrice Steiber of Greenwood as bridesmaid. The groom was attended by Ensign Henry M. Yoos and Ensign Richard E. Wilson. Eileen Cattanach, niece of the bride, carried a colonial bouquet. The groom’s attendants were his classmates during their training.

The bride was attired in a dress of white satin, finger tip veil with blusher and carried a white prayer book with an orchid. Miss Connor wore a dress of pink net with veil to match and her corsage consisted of white roses. Miss Steiber wore a dress of white net with veil to match and her corsage consisted of pink roses. The maid of honor and the bridesmaid each wore a small gold cross, a gift of the bride. The bride’s and groom’s mothers were dressed in powder blue with white accessories and wore corsages of white carnations.

Following a dinner for 44 guests at the Woodland Hotel, a reception was given at the community hall.

The couple went to Cable, Wis., to spend a week at the cottage of the bride’s brother and will go to San Diego where the groom reports for further training on June 23rd.
