Gosse, Evelyn (Marriage - 10 Apr. 1944)

Miss Evelyn Gosse, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Gosse of Colby, and Raymond Orth, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Orth of Abbotsford, exchanged marriage vows in the rectory of St. Bernard’s Catholic church at Abbotsford Monday morning, April 10th, at 10:30, Rev. F. Brockman officiating. The couple was attended by Miss Wanita Gosse of Colby, Miss Ermine Orth of Milwaukee, sisters of the bride and groom, respectively, Raymond Kiefer of Abbotsford and Roy Singstock of Colby, Wis.

The bride was attired in a becoming white organza frock fashioned with a long train. A beaded tiara held her finger-tip veil edged with lace and she wore a gold locket, a gift of the groom. Her shower bouquet consisted of red roses and carnations. Her sister, maid of honor, wore pink taffeta and Miss Orth, bridesmaid, was dressed in blue silk faille. Matching blusher veils and wrist corsages of white gardenias and red roses completed their attire.

A wedding supper was served to thirty guests and in the evening a dance was given at Wiedenhoeft’s pavilion. The couple spent a week in Milwaukee on a honeymoon.

Guests included Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Kugel and daughter, Nancy Ann, and Miss Ermine Orth of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Bramucker, of Medford, Mr. and Mrs. Myron Orth and Miss Bernice Laabs of Owen, Mr. and Mrs. Milton Meskes, Leroy Wirth, Mr. and Mrs. William Klieman, Mrs. Leo Underwood and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. George Orth and Mr. and Mrs. August Gosse of Abbotsford, Delores Viricks of Stetsonville and Doris Elstrom.
