Duvall, Arva R. (Marriage - 5 Feb. 1944)

Miss Arva R. Duvall, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Duvall of Colby, and Donald A. Fischer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Fischer, of Unity, were united in marriage at the Zion Ev. Lutheran church in Colby on Saturday, February 5th, Rev. O. Hoffmann reading the marriage ceremony. Mrs. Hugh Seefeldt, sister of the bride, was matron of honor and Mrs. Cyrell Adler, sister of the groom, was bridesmaid. The groom was attended by Hugh Seefeldt and Cyrell Adler.

The bride was attired in a gown of turf tan with green accessories and her shoulder corsage consisted of red roses and sweet peas. Mrs. Seefeldt wore an aqua street length dress with brown accessories and her shoulder corsage consisted of roses and sweet peas. Mrs. Adler wore a brown street length dress with light brown accessories and her bouquet consisted of narcissus and sweet peas.

Covers were laid for 50 guests at a reception at the home of the bride’s parents. The home was nicely decorated with tan, white and green streamers for the occasion. In the evening, a wedding dance was given at Cherokee hall.

The bride is a graduate of Colby, Wis. High School and the groom attended the Spencer High School. They will reside on the groom’s farm near Unity, Wis.

Guests included Mr. and Mrs. Walter Fischer and family, Merton Bennett, and Mrs. Ida Molle, Unity; Mr. and Mrs. Herman Neuman and family, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Seefeld and DuWayne, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Seefeld and Neil, Mr. and Mrs. Seefeld, Spencer; Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Duvall and family, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Duvall and family, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Seefeldt and family, Colby; Mr. and Mrs. Orland Scheer and family, Curtiss; and Mr. and Mrs. Cyrell Adler of Dorchester, Wis.
