Glenzer, Christ Henry (11 Oct. 1855 - 7 Jan. 1944)

Christ Henry Glenzer died at his home in Colby, Wisconsin Friday afternoon at the age of 88 years, old age and complications being the cause of his death. Funeral services were held at the Lulloff Funeral Home in Colby Monday afternoon, Rev. O. Hoffmann, pastor of the Zion Ev. Lutheran church, officiating and internment was made in the Colby cemetery. Pall bearers of the deceased were grand sons and were Albert, Bernard and Harold Laabs, Ben and Melvin Krueger and Jack Burtard. Miss Hazel and Miss Betty Krueger were in charge of the flowers. Mr. Glenzer had been ill but one week.

The deceased was born on October 11, 1855, in Sheboygan county and was married in Sheboygan to Miss Marie Rueden on June 28th, 1879. About 52 years ago they came to this community and settled on a farm in the town of Green Grove. Mrs. Glenzer preceded her husband in death 45 years ago. For the past 27 years, Mr. Glenzer made his home in the city of Colby, Wis.

The couple had ten children, six of whom survive - John Glenzer of Pinehurst, Ill., Alec Glenzer of Medford, Tony Glenzer of Rib Lake, Mrs. Mary Krueger of Colby, Mrs. John Burtard of Curtiss and Mrs. William Krueger of Curtiss, Wis. Surviving also are one brother, Fred of Colby, 44 grand children, and 46 great grand children.

Out of town people here for the funeral were Mrs. Carolyn Pribbenow of Port Washington, Fred Pribbenow and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Pribbenow of Owen, Mr. and Mrs. John Burtard and Gilbert, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Ackermann, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Necke, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Laabs and F. W. Laabs of Curtiss, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Untiedt, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Krueger and Betty of Green Grove, Mr. and Mrs. George Rueden and Mr. and Mrs. Emil Laabs of Dorchester, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Glenzer of Whittlesey, Mr. and Mrs. Tony Glenzer of Rib Lake, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Krueger and family and Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Laabs of Abbotsford, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Krueger and Mr. and Mrs. Orville Laabs of Milan, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Erdmann, Mr. and Mrs. Art Rueden and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Klessig of Town Colby, Wis.
