Munger, Vera Kathryn (Marriage - 26 June 1943)

At five p.m. Saturday, June 26, at the First Presbyterian church in Eau Claire, Wis., Vera Kathryn Munger, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rai P. Munger of this city and James P. Boysen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Boysen of Racine, were united in marriage. The ceremony was performed by Dr. D. K. Roberts, pastor of the church, the double ring service being used.

The church was deco rated with baskets of garden flowers. Prenuptial music was played by Mrs. Graham at the organ. Barry Stewart of Eau Claire sang "Because" and "I Love You Truly."

The bride was attired in a street length white bengaline dress, trimmed with pink and a white hat. She wore a corsage of pink rose buds and white baby’s breath. Her only jewelry was a gold locket worn by her grandmother fifty years ago.

Miss Shirley Boysen of Racine, Wis., sister of the groom, as maid of honor, wore a light blue street length dress and matching hat. Her corsage was gardenias and white larkspur.

John M. Arnold of Brainerd, Minn., cousin of the bride, acted as best man and the ushers were Ray Anderson and Robert Nelson, both of W. E. A. U. staff of Eau Claire.

The bride’s mother was dressed in navy blue sheer with white accessories and wore a corsage of pink snapdragons and white larkspur. The groom’s mother wore a navy and white crepe dress with white accessories and her corsage was also of pink snapdragon and white larkspur.

After the ceremony a wedding supper was served to seventeen guests at the Eau Claire hotel. Table decorations were bouquets of pink roses, English daisies, baby’s breath and ferns.

The bride grew up in Neillsville and graduated from High school here in 1938. She attended the University of Wisconsin and was graduated from Grovers-Barnhardt School for secretaries in Madison. Since then she has been employed in Eau Claire, at present being secretary and receptionist at W. E. A. U. radio studios in that city.

The groom was graduated from high school and the Beck school for radio in Minneapolis. He served for eight months in the U. S. Marine Corps and received a medical discharge because of injuries. At present he is on the staff of W. E. A. U. in Eau Claire as announcer.

The young couple will reside at 920 Water Street in Eau Claire.

Out-of-town guests included the parents of the bride and groom, Miss Shirley Boysen of Racine, John Arnold of Brainerd, Mrs. Edna Georgas, Miss Vahla Kloff and Mrs. Laura Holiday of Neillsville, Wis.
