Ignasiak, Estelle Charlotte (April 4, 1915 - November 18, 2007)

Estelle C. Ignasiak, age 92, longtime Town of Thorp resident, passed away on Sunday evening, November 18, 2007, at Our Lady of Victory Hospital in Stanley, WI.

Funeral services will be on Saturday, November 24, 2007, at St. Mary’s Czestochowa Catholic Church, rural Stanley, WI, with burial in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Friday November 23, 2007, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Plombon Funeral Home in Stanley, WI, and from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Saturday. There will be a parish Rosary recited at 7:30 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.

Estelle Charlotte Ignasiak was born on April 4, 1915, in the Town of Thorp to Frank and Helen (Balcer) Zaborowski.

She went to work in Chicago for six years. She married James Ignasiak in 1938 at St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church in Thorp, WI. They farmed all their lives until their retirement in 1979.

Estelle loved gardening, especially her flowers.

She is survived by two daughters: Loretta (Edward) Sczypioroski and Rita (the late Henry) Derks; two grandchildren: James (Brenda) Derks of River Falls, WI and Julie Derks of Thorp; six great-grandchildren: Samantha Kay and quintuplets, Katina Marie, Darin John, Brooklyn Rene, Stephanie Michelle, and Shawn Michael Derks; one sister, Lillian Felber of Manitowoc, WI; and two sisters-in-law: Emily Zaborowski and Josephine Fijalkiewicz.

Estelle was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James, in 2004; three brothers: Andrew, Anton, and Walter; and seven sisters: Francis Zaborowski, Mary Kiel, Theresa Ponick, Pauline Quick, Clara Zaborowski, Margaret Levendusky and Florence Heidorf.
