Curtiss, Wisconsin - Nov. 18, 1943

The village of Curtiss went over the top in the War Fund drive just completed. The quota was $82.00 and $92.50 was collected.

Norbert Buss, Lorrin Peterson of the village and John Schruteck of Hoard were among those who went to Milwaukee on Thursday to be inducted into military service.

Vera Dean Krueger and Iris Johnson of Chicago spent the week-end with their parents, returning on Tuesday.

Mrs. Grant Herrick and daughter, Gwendolyn, and Mrs. Fred Machlett spent Saturday afternoon at Medford.

Mrs. Wm. Fahrenbach and Mrs. Gilbert Grambort returned on Tuesday from a 10-day visit with relatives in Chicago.

Fritz Laabs returned to Chicago on Tuesday after having spent the week-end with his father, F. W. Laabs.

Miss Eva Mundt of Madison was a guest at the E. M. Peterson home the first part of the week.

Mrs. Wm. Kraus of Colby spent a few days last week with Mrs. Frank Tonn, Sr. She returned home on Friday.

Mrs. James Skinner of Burlington, Wis., who has been visiting at the home of her son, Mervin Olson, and daughter, Mrs. Chet Law, and family, went to Wausau on Monday to enter Memorial Hospital for medical treatments.

The Helping Hand Society of the Alliance church will meet with Mrs. Albert Phillips on Friday, Nov. 19th.

Robert Green of La Crosse spent the week-end with his mother, Mrs. Minnie Green. He left on Wednesday for Marengo to go hunting.

Pvt. Arthur E. Peterson, a student at Carlton College, Northfield, Minn., spent a short furlough between courses at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Peterson. He is in the Army Air / Technical Training Meteorology Detachment Command.
