Marian Palmerton

COLBY, Wis. - Marian Palmerton, 79, of Colby, Wis., formerly of the Cerro Gordo County area, died Monday (Dec. 19, 2005) at the House of the Dove in Marshfield.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Maurina Funeral Home in Abbotsford, Wis., with the Rev. Mara Theno conducting a prayer service at 7 p.m. Burial will be in Colby Memorial Cemetery at a later date.

Maurina Community Funeral Home, 203 N. Fourth St. in Abbotsford, Wis., is in charge of arrangements.

Marian was born Feb. 14, 1926 in Kansas City, Mo., to Vern and Anna (Rasmussen) Snell. Marian and Dale Palmerton were married Oct. 10, 1943, in Albert Lea, Minn. They farmed in Iowa and Colby, Wis. She also worked for Figi's in Marshfield. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Colby, Wis.

Marian is survived by her husband of 62 years, Dale Palmerton, of Colby, Wis.; her children, Gary (Karen) Palmerton of Menomonie, Wis., Russell (Judy) Palmerton of Abbotsford, Wis., Joyce (Alan) Hoernke of Stratford, Wis., and Kent (Barbara) Palmerton of Colby, Wis.; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Glen Snell of Mason City and Verlyn Snell of Overland Park, Kan.; and one sister, Bonnie Bergman of Mason City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Morris Snell and Dean Snell.
