Mildred Anklam

Mildred L. Anklam, 82, of Alma Center, Wis., died Wednesday, January 11, 2006, at the Pine View Care Center, Black River Falls.

She was born on June 1, 1923, near Eleva in Trempealeau County, Wis., to Albert and Inga (Bratberg) Anklam. As a child, she lived in Augusta, Humbird and Neillsville, Wis. She lived in Alma Center since 1954, where she cared for her mother until her mother’s death in 1987. She continued living in Alma Center until entering Pine View Care Center in 2001. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Alma Center. Her favorite pastimes included doing craftwork and puzzles.

Mildred is survived by her sister, Lillian Buttke of Alma Center; nieces and nephews, Barbara Johnson of Waukesha, Sharon Simonson of Chippewa Falls, Eugene Anklam of Oklahoma, Kathryn Michels of Chippewa Falls, Beverly Shawn of Inver Grove Heights, Minn., and Richard Anklam of Eau Claire; great-nieces and nephews; as well as other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and by three brothers, Clarence, Walter and Lawrence.

Funeral services for Mildred L. Anklam will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2006, at Grace Lutheran Church, Alma Center, with Reverend Steven Stork officiating. Burial will take place in the Eleva Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to services at the church.

Arrangements are with the Jensen-Modjeski Funeral Home, Hixton.
