Everett C. 'Brownie' Brown

Everett Brown, 95, Granton, died Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2006, at Memorial Health and Rehabilitation Center in Neillsville, Wis.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville, Wis. Interment will be in Neillsville City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home.

Brownie was born Jan. 28, 1910, in Morisville, Ill., the son of John W. and Laura A. (Crowl) Brown. He was united in marriage to Leila E. Gluch on Sept. 6, 1941, in Neillsville, Wis. Everett entered active service in the U.S. Army on Jan. 30, 1943, and served in World War II, obtaining numerous decorations. He was honorably discharged Oct. 28, 1945. He worked as a factory machine operator for a camera-projector company in Chicago, retiring in 1972. He and his wife moved to the Granton area. Leila died Oct. 16, 1989.

He is survived by many nieces and nephews.
