Steinwand, Virginia (Marriage - 9 Feb. 1943)

Miss Virginia Steinwand, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Francis J. Steinwand of Colby, and Pvt. Kenneth C. Bonar of Chicago were united in marriage at the Queen of Angels Catholic church in Chicago Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 9th. They were attended by the bride’s sister, Miss Betty Steinwand, and Joseph Spedale of Chicago.

The bride was attired in a street length dress of aqua wool and a small straw hat covered with flowers and carried a bouquet of white orchids. Her sister wore an American Beauty wool dress and carried a bouquet of pink carnations.

Following the ceremony, a dinner was served the wedding party and immediate family at the Tally-Ho in Park Ridge, Ill.

The bride is a graduate of Colby, Wis. High School and a business college in Rock Island, Ill. She is employed at the Federal Reserve Bank in Chicago. Pvt. Bonar, whose home is in Chicago, is a graduate of Lane Tech. School and is now an instructor with the Army Air Corps at an air base in Nebraska.
