Weller, Henry (4 Feb. 1866 - 21 May 1943)

Henry Weller died Friday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock at the Marathon County Hospital at Wausau where he was taken in the morning of the same day. He suffered a stroke two weeks ago and after complications set in, death followed.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock at the Lulloff Funeral Home, Rev. O. Hoffmann of the Zion Ev. Lutheran church officiating, and interment was made in the Colby cemetery. Pall bearers were George Wicker, Angus Lamont, Godfrey Baumgart, Otto Baumgart, Nick Kanter and John Marx. Those in charge of the flowers were Mrs. Floyd Eder, Mrs. Geo. Kowalk, Mrs. Harold Baumgart and Mrs. Irvin Primeau.

The deceased was born in Germany on February 4, 1866, thus reaching the age of 77 years, three months and 17 days. He came to the United States when a young man and lived for a year near Sheboygan and then came to Colby with his parents and engaged in farming. He was married in May 22, 1897, to Miss Martha Buchholz. They moved onto a farm in the town of Hull immediately after their marriage which they operated for 44 years. Two years ago they retired and moved to the city of Colby, Wis.

Surviving are his widow and three children - Mrs. Herbert (Ella) Kanter of Unity, Walter of Milwaukee and Clarence of Yukon Territory, Canada. Also one sister and four brothers - Mrs. Abe Butler of Colby, Charles, Louis and Fred Weller of Colby, Wis., and William Weller of Milwaukee and four grand children. His parents, one sister, one brother and one grand son preceded him in death.

Mr. Weller was a good Christian, of a congenial, industrious and honest disposition and respected by all who knew him.

Out of town people here for the funeral were Walter Weller of Milwaukee, Mrs. Clarence Weller and daughters, Constance, Sharon and Joan of Tigerton, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Charles Buchholz, Arthur Buchholz, Mr. and Mrs. John Maldonis and Mrs. Ella Baker of Owen, August Buchholz and daughter, Anita, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Krueger and Mrs. Lawrence Krueger of Curtiss, Wis., Mrs. Jack Syth, Mrs. Reynold Syth and daughter, Luanne, and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Syth of Greenwood, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Beisner of Dorchester, Mr. and Mrs. I. Bugar of Loyal, Mr. and Mrs. Hugo Breit, Mrs. Kate Greit, Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Vick and H. J. Romag of Stratford.
