Gwin, Marion (14 Mar. 1865 - 5 Mar. 1943)

Miss Marion Gwin of Curtiss died at the home of her sister, Mrs. Daisy Marcott, Friday night, March 5th, a heart attack being the cause of her departure. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, March 8th, at the home of Mrs. D. Marcott, Rev. Raymond Brown officiating, and internment was made in Pine Hill cemetery. Pall bearers were Otto Fravel, Allen Hawks, Emmet Hawks, Vernon Pragg, Ross Carley and Leslie Saxe.

The deceased was born on March 14, 1865, in St. Lawrence Co., New York. She came from New York as a young girl about sixty years ago with her mother and step father, Mr. and Mrs. Packard, and settle on a homestead in Taylor county where Mrs. Marcott now resides. She lived in Curtiss the past 20 years and spent the winters with Mrs. Marcott in recent years since the death of her mother who lived with her. She taught school in Clark county and was a member of the Order of Eastern Star in a New York chapter.

Surviving are two sisters - Mrs. Daisy Marcott, P.O. Curtiss, Taylor county, Mrs. J. R. Folmer (Eleanor) of Seattle, Wash. One sister, Mrs. Allie Davis, and one brother, Earl Packard, preceded her in death.
