Stettler, Sully (26 Aug. 1869 - 1 Mar. 1943)

Mrs. Fred Stettler passed away Monday forenoon, March 1, at her home in Colby, a heart ailment being the cause of her departure. Funeral services will be held this Thursday afternoon at the Lulloff Funeral Home at 1:30 o’clock followed by services at the First Evangelical and Reformed church at 2:00 o’clock, Rev. D. Grether officiating. Internment will be made at Eagle Valley.

The deceased was born at Eagle Valley, Wis., a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Joss, on August 26th, 1869, thus reaching the age of 73 years, six months and three days. She was married to Fred Stettler at Eagle Valley on October 31, 1891, and they came to Colby in 1920.

Surviving are her husband and six children, namely: Mrs. George Kingsley of Ekalaka, Mont., Victor Stettler of Colby, Max Stettler of Fountain City, Wis., Oswald of Wabasha, Minn., Fred R. Stettler at home and Oliver Stettler of Abbotsford, Wis. Also one brother, Lawrence Joss of Wimbelton, N. D., one sister, Mrs. Hans Tufflin of New Rockford, N.D., and 19 grand children.

The deceased was a good Christian, a devoted wife and mother of a friendly disposition and was well liked by all who knew her.

Funeral services for Mrs. Fred Stettler, age 73, whose death was reported last week, were held on Thursday afternoon at the First Evangelical and Reformed church, Rev. D. Grether officiating. Internment was made in the Eagle Valley cemetery, near Fountain City, Friday. Pall bearers were Fred Grambort, Fred Wolk, Louis Sachse, Ernest F. Miller, John Marx and Geo. Theilig. Those in charge of the flowers were Miss Loretta and Miss Olive Stettler.
