May, Esther (Marriage - 13 May 1943)

Miss Esther May and Pvt. George Volz were united in marriage Sunday, May 13, at St. John’s Lutheran Parsonage, the Rev. William A. Baumann performing the double-ring ceremony. Mrs. Marcella Adams and Maurice May attended the couple.

The bride was attired in an aqua crepe, two piece street dress, her corsage being made up of pink carnations and cream narcissi.

After the ceremony, the wedding party joined other relatives at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Otto May of Pine Valley for a reception and wedding supper. The color scheme of the table decorations was red, white and blue. A silk flag was hung above the heads of the bride and groom, tiny silk flags decorating the wedding cake.

The bride was graduated from the Neillsville High School. She worked as a clerk in the H. Roehrborn store for five years. Later she worked for a year in Chicago and for the past five years she has clerked in the dry goods department of the Farmers store.

The groom had been employed in the Deep Rock Filling station, on the oil and gas route for Kaiser Grap and at the Ford Garage since he left high school after his sophomore year. He now is a private in the U. S. Army at Camp McCoy. During his residence in Neillsville, he made his home with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Linton.

Mrs. Volz will return to her work today, Mr. Volz also leaving for camp.
