Beawer, Mr./Mrs. Charles (50th Anniv. - 31 Dec. 1942)

Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Beawer were tendered a surprise party Sunday evening on the occasion of their fiftieth or golden wedding anniversary. Prize winners at pinochle were Mrs. Julius Kobs and A. W. Bruss, first; Mrs. Ernst Mandel and Rev. O. Hoffmann, second; Mrs. H. A. Senkbeil and Henry Schauss, low. Mr. and Mrs. Beawer were presented a purse of money.

Both Mr. and Mrs. Beawer were born in Germany, the former on Oct. 16, 1869, and Mrs. Beawer on Mar. 5, 1869. They were married in Milwaukee on Dec. 31, 1893, and came to Colby in 1896 and lived in Colby for two years with Mr. Gust Franz. They then moved onto a farm east of Colby where they lived until five years ago when they moved to the city of Colby, Wis.

They have seven children, four sons and three daughters - William Beawer of the town of Hull, Carl Beawer of East Chicago, Ind., Rev. Arnold Beawer of Miles City, Montana, Fred Beawer of Racine, Mrs. Henry Schauss of Colby, Mrs. Gust Plaske and Mrs. Anna Aaron of Milwaukee. There are 18 grand children.

Out of town people here for the occasion were Fred Beawer of Racine and Mrs. Arnold Beawer of Miles City, Mont.
