Voigt, Amelia (Jahnke) (19 May 1927 - 8 Oct. 2007)

Amelia Voigt, 80, formerly of the Town of Frankfort, rural Colby, died Monday, Oct. 8, 2007, at the North Central Health Car Center in Wausau where she had resided since January of 2006.

Visitation with family and friends will be Wednesday, Oct 10, at the Maurina Funeral Home in Abbotsford from 4 to 8 pm.

Funeral services will be at 11 am Thursday, Oct. 11, at the Peace Lutheran Church in the Town of Frankfort, Edgar. The Reverend Jeff Tarras will preside and burial will be in the church cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Thaddeus, and Thomas Kramas Jr., Sonia Cleary, Jessica Held, Jennifer Nowacki and Tiffany Voigt.

Amelia was born May 19, 1927, in the Town of Johnson, Milan, the daughter of Martin and Mary (Bargender) Jahnke.

She and Arthur Voigt were united in marriage on June 19, 1944, in Abbotsford, Wis. Arthur died Jan. 5, 2000.

A homemaker, she also was employed with Abby Café in Abbotsford for 13 years and worked seasonally at Figi’s in Marshfield.

Amelia served as a Sunday school teacher and sang in the Peace Lutheran Church Choir. She enjoyed cooking, baking and quilting.

She is survived by five children, Arthur Voigt, Jr., rural Colby, Gerald (Maxine) Voigt, Appleton, Judy (Lonnie) Hoffman, Tomahawk, Patricia (Tom, Sr.) Kramas, Athens, and Karen (Joe) Deffner, Aniwa; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Norman Jahnke, Delevan and Daniel (Florence) Jahnke, Milan.

Maurina - Community Funerals Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
