Ackerman, Betty (Marriage - 16 Jan. 1943)

Miss Betty Ackerman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Archie Ackerman, and Clifford Gayken, son of Mr. and Mrs. Weert Gayken, all of Curtiss, Wis., were united in marriage at two p.m. Jan. 16, 1943, at the city hall at Owen, Wis.

The bride wore a gold street length dress, her flowers being pink carnations and white chrysanthemums. Miss Bernice Ackerman, a sister of the bride, wore a blue street-length dress, with a corsage of pink carnations and white chrysanthemums. Edward Potocnik attended the groom.

A reception was held at the bride’s home following the ceremony, 18 guests being in attendance. A wedding cake as the centerpiece and lighted candles at either end of the table served as the decorations at the wedding dinner.

The groom is employed at the box factory at Owen, Wis.

Guests in attendance aside from those residing in the immediate community were: Mr. and Mrs. Lee Gayken, brother and sister-in-law of the groom, her husband and sons, and Mrs. Harold Ostlund, an aunt of the bride.
