Armstrong, John (27 May 1937 - 07 Nov 2007)

John Armstrong, 70, Park Falls, died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2007, at Park Manor Nursing Home, Park Falls.

He was born May 27, 1937, in Hudson, the son of Donald and Margaret (Burkholder) Armstrong.

His early life and schooling were in Abbotsford, Wis. John then earned a degree in music from UW-Eau Claire, Wis.

On Feb 29, 1964, he married Gloria Mantik.

In 1962 he came to Park Falls and was called to active duty in the United States Army during the Berlin Crisis. John was a music teacher in Park Falls for two years and then owned and operated the House of Music store from 1964-1981. He co-owned and operated Flambeau Lanes in 1983. John was active in the community and belonged to many clubs and organizations.

He is survived by three children, Julie (Tom) Radlinger, Butternut, James (Judy) Armstrong, Prairie du Chien and Jodi (Paul) Krause, Edgar; seven grandchildren; and a brother, William (Nancy) Armstrong, Madison.

A memorial service was held Nov. 9 at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Park Falls. The Rev. Mary Jo Laabs presided.

Private interment took place.

The Novitzke Funeral Home in Park Falls handled the arrangements
