Schwantes, Kenneth & Anita (Golden - 7 Sept. 2005)

Kenneth and Anita Schwantes of Marshfield celebrated their golden wedding anniversary Sept. 7, 2005, with an open house held at the Marsh-field Elks Club. They were married Sept. 24, 1955, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Loyal., with the Rev. John Pfohl officiating. Original wedding attendants present for the celebration were Joanne Strebe, Verlyn Schwantes, Janice Mayer, Jerome Cook and Erland Greeler.

Kenneth was born Feb. 11, 1930, in Spencer, to Alvin and Rose (Schultz) Schwantes. He attended Catlin School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1951-1952. Anita was born Aug. 2, 1936, in the town of Beaver, Clark County, to Francis W and Bertha E. (Fabian) Cook She attended Sunnyside Grade School and Loyal High School. Kenneth worked for Klein Trucking, Rollohome, Badger Store Fixture and Wildwood Camper. Anita worked for Alfred V Hill & Co., Marshfield Oil Company, Morgan Drive Away, Figi's and Festival Foods.

They both continue to deliver the Buyers Guide They are members of Immanuel Lutheran Church.

They have three daughters, Susan Kay Brandt, Karen Ann Niehaus and Jayne Sue Lau; seven grandchildren and one great-grandson.
