Kallio, Sylvia (16 AUG 1940)

Two prominent young people of this community were united in marriage on Friday, Aug. 16, 1940, when Miss Sylvia Kallio and Woodrow Petersen were united in marriage by Rev. George Autio, at the parsonage of the Finnish Lutheran Church.

Miss Kallio is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Kallio of the town of Hoard (Clark Co.) and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Chris Petersen of the town of Hixon (Clark Co. Wis.).

The bride was beautifully gowned in a dress of pink and blue net and wore a corsage of pink and white roses. Her cousin, Mrs. Clarence Schultz wore a dress of pink net and a corsage similar to the bride’s.

The groom was attended by his brother, Ernest, each of whom wore a conventional business suit of dark green shade.

Following the service a reception for friends and relatives of the young couple was held at the Finnish Lutheran Church which was appropriately trimmed for the occasion with blue and pink streamers.

The groom is employed as a driver on a gasoline truck for the Farmers Co-op Oil Co.

The couple will make their home with the groom’s parents on their farm north of Withee and have the sincere wish of their numerous friends and the Enterprise for a pleasant wedded life.
